/tell me >> What have I been up to exactly?

Good question! Got a /tell from an old friend today and that was the question posed.

Amidst his joyous news of going 1/1 on Diabolos and Oryou (Serious grats!) I couldn’t really answer… I haven’t really done much, but I know I enjoyed it. Simple pleasures as they say XD

I have heard several people recently decide to go for their full relic upgrade. This is an incredible thing to aim for, and I wish them
all the luck in the world getting it ^^ It made me think though I need some targets also. So I thought about relic. Excalibur is a no chance for me. CoP is the long and distant maybe. But one thing Red Mage can do suddenly popped into my head.

Soloing something big.

While I followed the exploits of Avesta with much admiration, it never really appealed to me to emulate his victories. Concentration, time and above all his understanding of every last detail of the terrain and monster put the majority of this way beyond me. Let alone the leet gear and merits. However watching Maiev’s solo video of Fenrir really made me think about gearing up my RDM to an extreme level, and taking down similar targets. /inspired

Clerks 2

The “what have I been up to” question could be posed to real life also. Watched Clerks 2 last night, and I really enjoyed it. Strange as I really dislike Kevin Smith movies.

When I saw Clerks it was the movie everyone was banging on about. Even though everyone says they loved it, I doubt people my age could really identify with the story and characters, and their real life dilemmas. Its just say its cool because the magazines say to type thing. Watching it again a couple fo years back was almost revelatory to me. I was working in a place where I was going nowhere, worked all hours of the day, and it was through no fault but my own lack of motivation.

The second movie looks at the same people, but 10 years later. Doing the same things but only just on the cusp of achieving the normality they saw others use to pass them by. They get a happy ending. But will I get a happy ending? Will I get the normal life that others have? Do I even want that?

One tings for certain. Vanadiel gives much simpler answers to the similar questions it poses.

My new favourite anime (?)

Samurai Champloo. Yeah its old news now, but I don’t tend to jump on bandwagons. When everyone is hailing the new over hyped “thing” I tend to just… leave people to it. If it stands the test of time, I give it a shot when the dust settles and get a fresh view on it

I was always a huge Cowboy Bebop fan. I cant fault the show in any way, and I have great memories from the antics of the adorable characters. So I expected big things from Champloo. And I got them. In spades.
